Cobb Faith Partnership Success Stories & Testimonials

“The Cobb Faith Partnership (CFP) …(exemplifies) the way the faith community can work together to support each other and to meet the needs of God’s children where we find them. Every congregation is within a stone’s throw of people who need clothing, food, or housing, who are underserved by our system and who need both material goods, prayers, and advocates to speak for them in the public arena. (CFP) does a particularly effective job of researching and publicizing need, then seeking ways to help congregations and ministries meet those needs.

“The support CFP gives to participating (churches) is important as well. We can always do more, do what we do more effectively and in a more informed manner when we work together. CFP offers avenues for fellowship and mutual support for those who are in the front lines of serving the needs of Cobb County citizens.

“We at the Regional Council of Churches are pleased to be a part of CFP; part of our mission is to facilitate in other geographical areas in the region the kind of collaboration and communication we see the CFP supporting in Cobb County. We were inspired by CFP’s Small Ministries Fair (in August 2004) and have helped duplicate it in South Atlanta. Sixty ministries and agencies came together at the Atlanta Christian College last spring to inform, inspire, and connect with each other.

“(We express) our appreciation and admiration for the good work (CFP has) accomplished this year. Under (Kathy Grosskurth’s) leadership, the CFP has become a force in the community, and we pray for continued good governance for your fine organization. We send hearty congratulations on a job well done and prayers for many more years of good work (by CFP).”

Roy Craft – Executive Director
Ethel Ware Carter – Associate Director
The Regional Council of Churches of Atlanta, Inc.

“A big THANK YOU (for your involvement in the Point-in-Time Count for the Homeless)! The point-in-time project is very important to our community and takes many volunteers to make it happen. Your (organization’s) enthusiasm to step up, find sites, and survey the homeless has not gone unnoticed. Please … pat yourself on the back for a job well done.  Look(ing) forward to working with you (again) in the future.

Lee Freeman – Vice-Chair, Policy Council for the Homeless &
Employment/Education Services Manager, The Center for Family Resources

“(Y)our endless hours have been appreciated and now the harvest is beginning---the CFP connection was crucial in getting the Cobb Disaster Recovery going because of all the networking that had been done over the years in your perseverance of having the CFP meetings, etc.  Thanks again …”

Peggy Vansant, Community Volunteer

“I want to say … congratulations on spearheading the drive to Pathway accessibility (Remember, God does things in mysterious ways! ... though we may have one vision and believe things should happen a certain way.  He has a plan for us.  We just have to open ourselves up and be diligent in our efforts to do God's work!).”

Valeri L. Reaves – The Institute for KIDS &
Co-Team Leader, CFP-Marietta Central Geographic Team

“I really want to honor and acknowledge you for your unwavering stand for communication … I am inspired by your vision and actions that are pulling you forth …. You are just awesome.”

Mary Campbell – Executive Director, Rosebud Foundation

“Kathy - I am in awe of your expertise in the world of computers and of the wealth of information you are able to disseminate. It has been a great joy to know you, and though I am sorry to se you move on to other things, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU for your patience and expertise with me personally, and for all the hard work you have put in to keeping this organization on track. May God bless your future endeavors - you will be a hard act to follow.”

Paula Turnbull, Church Women United of Cobb County

“We (are currently receiving) info from the community events and (grants information elists) .  Thank you for rendering this service.  We are very grateful. Continue the good work for the community!”

Veronica Rushin-Long, Thelma Lewis Foundation

“Thanks for all that you have done and are doing for Cobb Faith Partnership.  Your leadership will be missed. Cobb Faith Partnership has been a blessing in the following ways: Our church membership is small so this organization has allow me to network with other small ministries -CFP has been very informative and educational on sharing with the community about resources and tools that are available in Cobb County -being associated with CFP has allowed me to become more familiar with various organizations which has helped me make proper referrals if needed -CFP has been like a another set of "hands" for those working in the vineyard with limited resources  -being associated with CFP has strengthened my faith.

“Kathy, I could go on and on about CFP.  Thank you again from the heart for what you do and have done at CFP. Thank you for letting Cole Street be a part of this circle.”

Pearl Massey, Cole Street Missionary Baptist Church

“I endorse the efforts of Cobb Faith Partnership (as they meet) a great need in the community of organizing churches around central issues. It’s my pleasure to work alongside such a good community partner (as Cobb Faith Partnership).”

-- Rev. John R. Moeller, Jr., Executive Director – MUST Ministries

“I regret that I can’t be more involved with (Cobb Faith Partnership).  I know it takes commitment and participation from members (for its success)...Thanks for all of your hard work in “birthing” this important group.  It has been a long labor of love and (the) efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.”

-- Darlene Duke, Executive Director – Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P.

“Cobb Faith Partnership has been helpful to me in getting to know my social service neighbors in this area and the services they provide.  This in turn helps MUST do a better job of making appropriate referrals and feeling more connected to the rest of the community. “

-- Susan Williams, Director - MUST Smyrna
