New!
Due in part to CFP’s educational efforts, The
Cobb Collaborative has
allocated funding to provide 1-year FREE ACCESS to the Pathways
Database Management System which will allow smaller churches and
ministries that qualify access to the internet-based client management system. An
initial training for those churches and ministries was held November
15th at The Center for Family Resources, with other sessions to be
scheduled based on need and available funding.

completed in March 2005 – all CFP voting representatives attending
at least one CFP-related Meeting in 2005 received a copy. The most
recent edition was distributed at our December 14th Annual Meeting &
Holiday Celebration (We are seeking Cobb Based churches and
ministries to be included in the next edition scheduled for early 2006 -
complete our online form

Following the success of Our "Small
Ministries Making a Big Difference" forum held last August 12th at Kennesaw State University, this
spring’s event held on May 3rd at
Marietta First Presbyterian Church was a overwhelming success with
over 100 attendees, 20 displays from churches and ministries, and opportunity to hear and interact with speakers from several ministries to
discover ways of collaborating and partnering with them. Overall CFP membership
has increased to over 100 members, and plans for our 3rd event is
underway! Also, the Regional Council of
Churches of Atlanta adopted CFP's format when they hosted a similar
event in South Atlanta in April 2005!

CFP continues to streamline its email
and website communications with a major revision of both mediums:
The CFP eLists were split into 3 separate
lists, and CFP's website went through its first major revision since
the merger of CAP and SWCFC almost 2 years ago. Surveys continue to
gather information giving guidance on how to further improve the eLists
and the website. Consequently, CFP has committed to allocate funds to
continuously improve both avenues of communication for the benefit of
all CFP stakeholders.

Our Geographical Teams are taking off
- three teams are meeting on a regular basis (SW Cobb, Marietta Central,
NE Cobb), and NW Cobb will host meetings very soon. The SW Team has many
successful projects under their belt: staffing both the SE and SW Cobb
Sectors in the Cobb Human Services Coalition Point in Time Count of the
Homeless, hosting a Prayer Vigil, sending care packages to US soldiers
stationed overseas, recruiting youth groups to participate in National
Youth Services Day activities, and heading up efforts to support groups
providing shelter and services to homeless and needy in the SW Cobb area.

Cobb Faith Partnership is continuing to
assist the Cobb Community Collaborative and the KSU AL Burruss Institute with their County-wide survey of
the social service community which will include area churches and
ministries’ responses gathered from 2002-present. To participate in our
survey, please visit this link.

Women & Children's Issues, Financial Assistance, Database Management
Issues, and Local Flood Recovery efforts. A special session with Cobb
Chairman Sam Olens was held in August 2005.
